Classical Music
Musical Occasions has a very large roster of the finest local classical musicians available to play at your wedding or special event. We represent many of the members of the Vancouver Symphony, the Vancouver Opera and the CBC Orchestras as well as several University and College professors and educators to ensure you the highest standard of musicianship. Depth of knowledge of repertoire and years of experience are very important considerations when booking classical musicians for your event. We stake our reputation on the quality of our musicians, so you can relax knowing that the music will be perfect for your event. All of our musicians are dressed appropriately for the occasion in tuxedo / black dress unless otherwise requested.
“Classical music” is a term we use to loosely define a style of music. It includes music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras as well as modern day composers. We represent dozens of ensembles that specialize in these styles of music.
To make things easier for wedding clients, we have marked some of the selections with a star system to help you choose your ceremony repertoire. Most wedding clients will need to choose two processionals (one for the bridal attendants and one for the bride), as well as a signing of the registry selection and a recessional selection. If you are having a small wedding party, then only one processional may be necessary. The processionals should be a fairly slow tempo, while the recessional selection is best if it is a little faster. The signing of the registry selection can be any tempo/selection that appeals to you, as there is usually no walking done during the signing. We would be happy to assist you with your ceremony selections as well, if you like.
