Ian Hampton
Ian Hampton, Musical Director/Advisor - Classical, is a well known and respected cellist in Canada and is currently the Artistic Director of the Langley Community Music School. Ian's accomplishments include being the Personnel Director and Principal Cellist of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra and the CBC Vancouver Orchestra. In addition, Ian produces concerts at the Vancouver Art Gallery and is the past Principal of the Langley Community Music School. Ian is a former member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Edinburgh String Quartet. He was cellist with Canada's internationally renowned Purcell String Quartet for 20 years and he was a founding member of The Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, England, along with Sir Neville Marriner. Ian has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Wigmore Hall in London and he has performed for the Royal Family in England.
Bob Murphy
Bob Murphy, Musical Director/Advisor - Jazz, is hailed by critics and peers alike as one of Canada's greatest jazz pianists. He has worked with or opened for Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, Sarah Vaughan, Sam & Dave, Ernestine Anderson, Larry Coryell, Freddie Hubbard, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Kenny Wheeler, Jimmy Witherspoon, Gil Evans, Chuck Berry, Henry Mancini, Lionel Hampton, Warne Marsh, Dusty Springfield, to name only a few. Bob is a veteran of the Vancouver and Toronto music scenes and is a recording and touring artist. His compositions can be heard regularly on CBC radio. Among others Bob performs regularly with JUNO Award winners Campbell Ryga, Miles Hill, Blaine Wikjord, Ross Taggart, Bill Runge, and Graham Boyle. Bob has also been a musical director for CBC and CTV shows. Bob is also an educator and manages his own recording studio.
