Who We Are
Jan Trerise, President, founded Musical Occasions because she is passionate about music and people. Jan managed Canada's renowned Purcell String Quartet during the early 1980's, and she has been on the "Splash" Committee for Art's Umbrella's Annual Gala Fundraising Event since 1986. Jan's background in music includes being a past member of the Board of Directors for the Society of Women in Music, a member of the Pacific Music Industry Association, The B.C. Touring Council, Tourism Vancouver, CARAS (Juno Awards), and a voting member of the Canadian Music Centre. Jan was also a frequent presenter for The Vancouver Cultural Alliance "Search" Program, as well as the "Gimme A Break Music Business Series." In the past, Jan also operated a management company of international caliber Classical and Jazz concert artists.
Since 1990, Musical Occasions has provided exceptional musicians to play at hundreds of weddings, corporate and special events. We are proud members of the American Federation of Musicians as well as the Vancouver Musicians Association.
